The forerunner of UBP is the factory area of Beijing Electronic Tube Factory. Within UBP, there are a number of buildings combining both western and Chinese styles, which were designed by and constructed under the supervision of experts from the former USSR in 1950’s. The appearance of these buildings features rich sense of history and diverse cultural connotation, and UBP designs for low-rise, low density, low- plot ratio and high greening rate. UBP with a realized greening rate of up to 40% has dozen of green lands, rich vegetation, small garden and pavilions, and other architectural scenery spots. To better meet the commands of multinational companies in UBP, and “transplanted” the beautiful environment of Switzerland into UBP so as to create a comfortable setting of working in the “garden” for clients.

UCP is formerly the plant area of Beijing Matsushita Color Picture Tube Co., Ltd. (BMCC). On September 8, 1987, jointly initiated by Mr. Deng Xiaoping and Mr. Konosuke Matsushita and led by Beijing Municipal Government, Chinese and Japanese enterprises jointly funded and established BMCC. At the end of December 2009, BOE formally acquired all the shares held by Matsushita and began to carry out the industrial upgrading, for the purposes of retaining and maximizing industrial complex built in 1980s within the park, creating comfortable office and commercialspace, attracting the settlement of high-quality strategic customers in cultural innovation field, and building UCP, a park with incredible cultural connotation and perfect integration ofindustryheritage and modern technology.

UCP原为北京•松下彩色显象管有限公司(简称:BMCC)厂区。1987年9月8日,在邓小平先生和松下幸之助先生的共同倡导下,由北京市政府牵头,北京电子管厂(京东方前身)等四家中方企业与日本松下电器产业株式会社、松下电子工业株式会社共同出资成立了BMCC。在社会各界的关心指导下,中日双方股东精诚团结,用智慧和汗水铸就了一段辉煌灿烂的历史。 2009年6月30日,受显示技术更新换代的影响,BMCC正式停产。 2009年12月底,京东方集团正式收购了松下持有的全部股份,并开始进行产业升级,为这片老厂区注入新的活力,保留并最大化地利用了园区内80年代工业建筑群,打造出舒适的办公、商业空间,吸引文化创新领域高品质战略客户入驻,成为极具文化内涵、大工业遗迹与现代科技完美融合的园区——UCP。
